About The Precinct:
The Tillman Station was created in 1989 as the City of Memphis' needs for police services expanded. It was temporarily located in the East Precinct until 1992, when it was relocated to 79 S. Flicker. On July 1, 2003 the former Central Precinct moved to 426 Tillman in a new state-of-the-art facility. The Tillman Station area covers 21.52 square miles and includes an estimated 90,136 residents. The Tillman Station, then known as the Central Precinct, was the only precinct that operated 3 shifts in 1996. In 1997 a fourth shift was added.
